Windshield Replacement FAQs

Most windshield replacements take about 90 minutes. This includes preparation, installation, and the adhesive's Minimum Drive-Away Time (MDAT) so the vehicle leaves at safe retention strength.

Yes. Your vehicle is safe to drive when we return it to you because the adhesive system and installation conditions follow the manufacturer's verified MDAT requirements.

A windshield can often be repaired when the damage is a rock chip about the size of a quarter or smaller, or certain short cracks after inspection. If repair is still possible, we'll recommend it.

If your vehicle uses a forward-facing camera or other ADAS features, calibration is required after replacement. These systems depend on precise alignment. When you schedule, we verify your vehicle's equipment and explain the calibration process.

Many comprehensive auto policies cover windshield replacement. We work with most carriers. When you call for your quote, let us know if you're filing a claim and we'll walk you through the process. Have your VIN ready — it's the fastest way to get an accurate quote.

Windshield Chip & Crack Repair FAQs

Chips that fit within the diameter of a quarter are typically repairable. Larger chips or short cracks may also be evaluated when appropriate, but results vary and depend on the condition of the break.

The main goal is to stabilize and seal the glass. Cosmetic results vary. Some repairs clear noticeably, while others remain faint but structurally reinforced.

Most chip repairs are completed in 30 minutes or less. This includes inspection, repair, and controlled curing.

Standard-size chip repairs include a lifetime warranty. If a qualifying chip spreads, the repair cost can be credited toward a windshield replacement with us.

Yes. When safe, repairing and stabilizing a chip helps preserve the factory windshield and original seal, which is often preferable to full replacement.

Auto Glass Repair FAQs

Auto glass repair covers smaller issues such as loose trim, rattling cowls, mirrors that have fallen off, minor hardware failures, or windows that dropped or jammed. When damage is limited to attachments, hardware, or small components, repair is often the most practical option. If inspection reveals that the glass or structural bond is compromised, we explain when full replacement is the safer long-term solution.

An appointment is recommended so we can inspect your vehicle and complete the repair the same visit whenever possible. When you arrive, we look at the issue, confirm whether it can be repaired, and give clear options before work begins. Many small repairs can be handled the same day; others may require parts or a follow-up visit.

In many cases, yes. We can install customer-supplied parts such as door glass, quarter and vent windows, window regulators, mirror assemblies, and certain trim or hardware as long as they are safe and correct for the vehicle. The only exception is windshields—we do not install customer-supplied windshields. During your visit, we'll inspect the parts to confirm whether they're suitable for a reliable repair.

Side Glass Replacement FAQs

Most side glass replacements are completed in under an hour. Timing varies by vehicle design, but the process is always performed carefully to ensure proper fit and function.

Yes. Side windows do not require a safe drive-away time like windshields. After verifying proper operation, the vehicle is typically ready to drive right away.

It depends on the design. Some windows are bolt-mounted while others use automotive urethane. Vent windows, quarter glass, and fixed panels vary by model, and we follow the correct method for your specific vehicle.

Yes. Replacement side glass matches factory tint specifications, including green, gray, or privacy tint where applicable. If aftermarket film was previously installed, the new glass will match factory tint rather than aftermarket film tone.

Bonded glass may require simple aftercare such as keeping protective tape in place for about 24 hours and avoiding high-pressure washing for 48 hours. Bolt-mounted glass typically requires no special aftercare once function is verified.

When applicable, we inspect the regulator and track system to confirm smooth movement. If concerns are found, we explain options to help prevent premature failure or uneven operation.

Rear Glass Replacement FAQs

Rear glass replacement includes removing the damaged glass, clearing debris from the interior, prepping the opening correctly, and installing new glass using the proper materials. Defroster connections, trim, and molding are handled carefully to help prevent leaks and wind noise.

Yes. If your vehicle has a heated rear window, we install the correct glass and reconnect the defroster grid. If connectors or components are damaged, we'll review the findings with you.

Yes. We replace rear truck glass with integrated power sliders. These jobs require careful handling of the slider assembly and proper sealing to help prevent water intrusion and wind noise.

In most cases, yes. Many SUVs, hatchbacks, and trucks use factory privacy-tinted rear glass. We verify your vehicle specifications and install the correct type of glass when available.

Yes. Our lifetime workmanship warranty applies to all auto glass installations—including back glass— for as long as you own or lease the vehicle. It covers installation-related issues such as leaks, wind noise from improper sealing, and loose or misaligned moldings and trim. See full warranty details.

Power Window & Regulator Repair FAQs

Common signs include a window stuck up or down, glass dropping into the door or tilting crooked, slow or jerky movement, and noises like clicking, grinding, or popping inside the door. Some windows move briefly and then stop or reverse. These symptoms may come from a worn regulator, failing motor, broken cable, damaged guide, or faulty switch.

Yes. We remove the door panel carefully, test the motor, regulator, and switch circuit, and confirm the actual cause before recommending parts. This helps avoid replacing the wrong component when the issue originates from a switch, wiring problem, or another failure inside the door.

Many window or regulator repairs can be completed the same day, but timing depends on the vehicle design and what failed. After diagnosis, we replace the worn components, realign the glass, and verify proper operation before you leave.

Yes. After parts are replaced, we re-align the glass so it travels straight in the tracks and seals correctly. Before you leave, we run the window multiple times and check for rattles, air leaks, and water leaks.

Yes. All power window and regulator work is completed in our Omaha shop. Working indoors supports consistent lighting, correct tool access, and controlled conditions while your door is apart.

Yes. If your door glass is broken along with the regulator issue, we handle both concerns during the same visit so the window operates smoothly again.

Windshield Leak Repair FAQs

Common causes include a failing seal, a prior installation that didn't bond correctly, damaged trim, or corrosion around the windshield opening. In some cases, the water source isn't the windshield at all.

A reseal often solves the problem. The right answer depends on what's causing the leak and the condition of the glass and bonding surface. If the glass or bonding area is compromised, a full windshield replacement is the more reliable fix.

Yes. Many leaks originate from trim areas, seams, roof channels, and rear glass openings. We identify the actual entry point and then explain the appropriate next step.

Yes. Ongoing moisture can lead to rust, mold, interior odors, and electrical damage if not addressed. Headliner staining from water intrusion is also permanent once it sets.

Timing depends on the leak source and what's required to correct it. Diagnosis alone can range from a few minutes to several hours depending on the complexity. After identifying the cause, we outline the scope, cost, and timing before any repair begins.

Windshield Rust Repair FAQs

Rust in the windshield opening is often caused by long-term moisture exposure, previous leaks, or poor-quality past installations that allowed water to sit in the pinchweld. Over time, moisture damages paint and exposes bare metal, leading to corrosion.

In many cases, yes. We can treat light to moderate pinchweld rust so the urethane adhesive has a solid surface to bond to. If rust has created holes or severe structural damage, we may recommend body shop metal repair before installing new glass.

After removing the windshield and trim, we remove loose rust and damaged paint, treat the area with inhibitors, and prime and seal the metal so modern urethane can bond properly. The goal is to stop corrosion and support a safer, longer-lasting seal.

Addressing rust can improve sealing when corrosion contributed to a poor bond or uneven surface. If you're dealing with an active drip or water intrusion, a focused windshield leak inspection may be needed to confirm the source.

If the metal is mostly intact and corrosion is still in an early to moderate range, repair and surface preparation is usually realistic. If there are holes, heavy scaling, or structural damage, a body shop must correct the metal before safe glass installation.

Yes. The first step is an inspection. We review the affected area, explain what's realistic, and outline the cost to clean and treat the rust as part of a proper windshield replacement.

Commercial & Fleet Auto Glass FAQs

Yes. All commercial and fleet auto glass work is performed in our Omaha shop. Working in-shop supports quality control, proper curing conditions, and consistent safety standards.

We service most light-duty and medium-duty vehicles that can be brought into the shop — work trucks, vans, pickups, and many service units. If you're unsure about a specific vehicle, reach out and we'll review details before scheduling.

Yes. We coordinate scheduling around your workflow. Many fleet managers rotate vehicles through the shop during slower periods so field work continues without interruption.

Common services include windshield replacement, chip and crack repair, side and rear glass replacement, and power window and regulator repair. We also repair windshield leaks and address rust when corrosion affects sealing surfaces.

Yes. We diagnose and repair power window and regulator failures so windows operate smoothly and help keep equipment secure. We confirm the actual issue before recommending parts or repairs.

Some newer fleet units equipped with forward-facing cameras or driver-assistance systems require calibration after windshield replacement. If calibration applies to your fleet, we review the details during scheduling and explain how it is handled for your specific vehicles.

ADAS Windshield Calibration FAQs

Many do. Requirements depend on the vehicle's equipment and the manufacturer's documented procedures. When calibration is required, we confirm it by VIN and follow the appropriate process.

The simplest method is your VIN. When you schedule, we check your vehicle's equipment and confirm whether calibration applies.

Yes. Some calibrations are dynamic, some are static, and certain systems may require both depending on the vehicle and camera design.
